Does that really matter? You could assign as same as The Beatles or The Who and Metallica, all of them could be considered as progressive, will say avantgarde or a never expressed style before.
As I said, the Steinberger L/5 will be the last one i bought; btw what's the actual pricing of the Stings this days, in the '70tis they were pretty expensive with around 2000 CHF, a whole lotta bucks these days.
There were not much of TVs spread and none of music edited on air*. :rollno:
Near my grandma was a TV-Shop on which I hung on for hours, whit no tone of course.
*Perhaps some German Schlagers which I hated for their bs lyrics.:vomit:
I see/hear no difference, except to turn down the amp-gain level for the actives ... but since I have actives only I don't have to mind about this "problem".
Btw, to me tone is in the fingers and neither in instruments or amps.
Plenty of 5er have weak B-String tone; the question is not about scale but rather on the density of woods. I own a '93 Streamer 5 with maple body, ovangkol neck/wenge fb and this guy is thunder pure; a 34" btw. Otherwise I went to Steinberger but that's another league ...
