How are Pink Floyd considered PROG rock?

And Camel, of course.
Caravan, Spocks Beard, etc.
I don't generally consider PF to be prog. But when trying to explain my listening preference, I will throw Floyd in because most people around here have only ever heard of Floyd,Yes, and occasionally Genesis. Growing up in England in the 60's we never used the term, they were just pop bands. First time I recall hearing the term, was when "Tarkus" by ELP came out.

I guess I really don't care what anyone calls anyone. If I like it I buy it. If I love it I go see it done live. I've worn out three cassettes of DSOTM, two CDs, and one video of the Pulse tour. I currently have in my vehicle about 4 hours of nothing but PF. With my suround sound, 18 speakers, a sub, and 2200 watts I rather enjoy trips down the interstate.

And Camel, of course.

And offshoot, Cameltoe.
