Leaning towards this... I've seen some typos before, but that radical of a band change name (unless said singer is already a big name in their own right with their own draw) just sounds off... Either way, correct it and nip it in the bud.

Given the OP was asking about gigs for an originals band (something that a lot of folks have experience with, including the ones that result in cash in pocket), it's probably more a case of the wrong thread than the wrong room ;)

This. And yep, you can even get paid doing it (and make some nice coin from merch along the way). For the OP, biggest thing is to build up the following (there are other threads on that topic, but count on a very long haul), then you will either be in the situation to just do your own thing...

If it's good, why not? I've bought more than one EP from an originals act if I liked the tunes, and if I'm in NYC for the evening, I'm only hitting places that have live original music (otherwise I'd just go somewhere with a decent juke box). Different strokes and all that jazz.

The problem is that band member 'A' is pretty much slandering myself and the drummer in the description of every video, and is repeatedly representing (publicly) that he 'fired' the band, and taking credit for all of the works under his new band's name. Short background - band member 'A'...

I'm lucky in that the wife is 100% supportive of my music (buying her a vintage guitar and vox tube amp helped...) Our deal is pretty simple. As long as she gets to do her interests, I get to do mine. Granted, it took two wives to get to that point of mutual understanding ;)

That's a pretty reasonable schedule too for a lot of folks, and right in the middle of the bell curve for what I see in my area for bands. At the extreme you have either folks with no gigs who want to jam in the basement, or folks who want 2-3 practices per week in preparation for national...

One of my bands does exactly this, and it's fantastic for practice. Heck, we've even recorded a lot of our demos on an electronic kit.
