I said that the soundguy at that gig runs DI, doesnt mic the cab. I set up my ampeg V4B and 115 cab, and ran a line from the cab > "speaker input" on the avalon u5, and then came out of the avalon into the PA. So the avalon was my DI. This way my post tube signal was sent to the PA.

This particular sound guy just runs a DI. I could've asked him to mic it but I usually just let sound guys do their thing

So it sounded great! Very warm and tubey. I was using in ears and the notes bounced off the neck with a fat squishy gooeyness that i dont quite get with my other rigs. I got a soundboard + room mics recording too which sounds good. Will def be using this setup again!

Yeah I've run my Bass straight into the Avalon in the past, along with upright bass and acoustic guitar. All sounds great. Just try this tonight try to get those tubes in the mix

Signal chain is P bass > ampeg v4b > ampeg 115 cab > avalon > PA I have it run like this so that the soundboard signal is post power tubes. The ampeg actually has a DI out but it's pre power tubes and sounds OK but I'm just curious how it sounds after all the tubes. Soundchecking now so far so...

I prob won’t be pushing the power tubes that hard. If I want any crunch, I’ll more likely crank the input gain knob. And yes, I have an XLR de-coupler thingie to keep the U5 safe from phantom power. Thanks

Just got a V4B reissue. The DI out is pre-power tubes. I have an Avalon DI that accepts speaker level input so I can send the post-power tube tone to the PA if i want to. Im gonna try both ways and see if there is a big tonal difference, but just curious if anybody has already done this? I...

I use the Compressore. I just use the power supply that came with it, plugged into a power strip i attached to my board

Love my American Pro! Strung with very light strings (40-115). Feels and sounds fantastic! I also have a Modulus Q5 but this fender gets the gigs.
