    Thoughts on 20th anniv Stingray?

I cannot express how much I miss mine- sold her 8 yrs ago or so and have regretted it ever since. Had a quilted top-birdseye neck and soooo much figure in the wood. I popped a bartolini p/u in there and she really sang. Decided to quit playing forever (doh!) and sold her with all my gear. DOH...

    Warmoth Owners Club!!

Standard showcase neck -BML 17.46mm - tight fit was scariest part of build for me. I put the bezels in the freezer (lol) and tapered the openings very slightly before pressing them in. I dont think the freezer part made any difference however :)

    1st Warmoth Build

The frets are an alloy similar to stainless with the gold coloring throughout. They are between nickel and stainless in hardness. The bass went together with no real problems whatsoever. I took my time with the sanding (600 grit wet) of the danish oil finish- to seal the endgrain. Turned out...

    warmoth experience?

The neck pocket on my build was perfect. I could gently set the neck in the pocket and lift the body up without the screws. I didnt have to do a thing-certainly not with a dremel. I found the build fairly easy. Good luck - YMMV :)

My first warmoth build- Korina body-Ebony fretboard-Rosewood neck. Heavy but I still love it. Watco danish oil finish-wet sanded 600grit. Surface is completely sealed and babys butt smooth, even the endgrain. Neck is raw rosewood and ebony-treated with bore oil. Pocket was...

    Badass or Babicz bridge?

Sweet! Thats good news. Shame bout the hipshot. Its the same all the way across the bridge -so its not like one bad saddle. Perhaps some grooves for the adjustment allens to ride in would solve it, but I dont think my dremel skills would be up to the task lol. Unfortunately it was an ebay...

    warmoth experience?

A few pics- unfinished body alone weighed 6.2lbs per warmoth -this piece of korina was heavy. No neck dive -balances perfectly on a 4inch Italia strap, but you most certainly feel it there. Bass feels resonant and alive even though weighty. Notes vibrate strongly through the body- you can really...

    Badass or Babicz bridge?

Going through a bit of a bridge thing myself. Purchased a hipshot brass 4string bridge for my recent warmoth build. Getting a vibration that I can feel if I dig in a bit. I thought it was just a part of the new bass's feel. Truly disappointed that it felt so odd. Only bass I have ever owned that...

    Bass weight

I find a Fender Precision LYTE is a comfortable and lightweight bass. I have the mahogany deluxe version circa 1989 I think. Really thin jazz neck- threw some hipshot ultralights on it and added a Glockenklang pre and Novak Pickups -still tweaking it but it feels very light and comfortable...

    Fender Precision Bass Lyte Deluxe

1985 Deluxe- Just finished rebuild with Curtis Novaks bridge and neck position, hipshot ultralights,Glockenklang 3band pre, and a bone nut. Light as a feather with serious tone! I almost bought another I saw on GC website a week ago -just to have a spare neck and body JIC. I really like this...
