    AGH!!! Help needed

I assume you will run DI through some Subs....That said, I gig hard all the time, ...I use a rack with a slave (have used a Mackie FB2500=too heavy) I now use a crown 1500 with a Eden navigator 100 preamp. I play through either an Eden 6x10 for bigger boom or a GK 1x15 cab for lighter venues. I...

Taking apart my bass for the plane

Sounds like a great idea to me. I fly in and out of Orlando all the time and the Disney souvenirs folks bring back home are far more cumbersome than a bass body and neck. I suspect you will do just fine. Rock On!

Any hope for authentic Fender Precision?

I have owned/collected old Fender basses since the late 70's. As you know, the "parts" are very interchangeable. This has always been an issue with Fenders. You really have to do your homework - Even seasoned "experts" can be stumped. I have seen a lot of vintage fakes. It doesn't help that even...

Considering going to one bass only, for a one year period!

I have and have had many basses over the years. Other than noodling, I practice, play and gig on one bass - a fender P bass. First, that's what I grew up playing and am comfortable, second was a resistance to having active electronics - batteries dying mid gig, as I have seen. Me and my old...

Can I Get a Aggressive Sound Out of Flats

For punchy, Roto sound Swing Bass 66 has my vote. Check out Mo Foster's reviews on Youtube on the Roto sound line up. As always, this is a very subjective issue.... Rock On!

    Dean basses?

I have played and owned a number of Dean basses over the years including "Edge" models and they were all decent axes IMHO. I owned a Dean "DB" (pre Edge, I believe) from the early 90's that had a large body scallop where your right wrist/forearm would cross if you play with a pick. That was a...

    First Vintage Purchase

I agree with GretchWretch, those old necks can become unplayable in short order. Tune it up and check the neck carefully. I also agree to use light strings. Vintage stuff is awesome!!! Good luck and Rock On!!!

Is Squire a bad thing ?

I have seen Regi Wooten (Victor's older brother and mentor) play a Squire Strat....The Squire basses I have owned and played have generally been great axes, particularly for the money... and I own/have owned a lot of "great" basses - Alembics, vintage fenders, Ricks, vintage Gibsons and even...
