Yeah vol1 and holy mountain had sick bass tone imo. Also both times I've seen sleep live Al's tone was killer.

I know Al Cisneros has flats on all his Ric's. I have flats on my Ric for one of my project and I agree with @Sartori they more or less sound like dead rounds. I tend to like dead rounds though.

I agree, Candlemass is an awesome band but nothing special tone wise. @Sartori That was my thinking, C standard is a little awkward as far as string tension goes.

Being in a small town definitely helps with travel time to practice. It takes me less then 10 mins to get to my bands space. A half gutted single wide with a couple of rooms built on. It was a total dump when we started renting it but it's coming along. Cool man, I really want to try that now...

Thanks again for the imput. If I were to port the cab aby idea what the best speaker would be for it? Preferably in the $100 range but I'm open to options if I can make this a cab worth gigging as well as home practice. Thanks -Boone

Thanks for the info and the link. I would like to avoid porting it if posable but am willing to do whatever to get the best tone/power handling out of it. Will porting it give me the option for a better speaker or can I come close keeping it sealed? Any help is appreciated! -Boone
