Try an "On Stage" amp stand. There are very durable and have a fairly large weight limit on them. Best bang for the buck and built well. Who has $700 for an amp stand? Geez

I think I'm gonna go with a sealed cab. Get in there and make sure it's airtight, then contact Eminence with my deminsions. Great co. And made in my home state of Ky.

Hi. I was just curious about everyone's opinion on ported cabs, vs. non ported cabs. And could anyone explain what the differences are (sound wise/pro's and cons) to me? Gracias amigo's.

The speakers will determine what type of head I'll use. The cab isn't much to look at right now, but it's a restoration project for me (doing it my way of course haha). Truth be known, it is an old Peavey cab that I'm basically gonna replace everything on (tolex, speakers, speaker grille, etc.)...

I just had some horrible experiences in the past. Particularly with a Fender Bassman 300 head I owned. It had pre-amp tubes, plus four 6550-C's. It was in the shop a lot (solder joints coming loose etc). And I was extremely careful with it as well.

So I am in the market for a new bass amp again. Of course we all know you can't go wrong with this head, but I have a few major concerns. In owning tube heads in the past, I learned the hard way how delicate they truly are. What is the best way to transport these amps as well as move them in and...

I think what I'll do is go ahead and purchase the Eden Cab at 8 ohms. Then I'll take it to guitar center and try out every head known to man, until I am satisfied. Sounds like a plan to me. Thanks everyone!

Some good info there. I personally have found that if you pair any GK head up with the MXR M81 Preamp pedal, that you can get tons of awesome tones.
