    Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 to MarkbassLM2

hey dude, thanks for your reply. Markbass manual says its a balanced line xlr, so im not sure if that mean line level, probably, why would it be mic level if its coming out of my amp head? so im thinking XLR out to XLR in on the 2i2 is the way to go. The markbass has a separate volume control...

    Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 to MarkbassLM2

HI i have a quick question regarding how I should go out from my LM2 head into my scarlet 2i2. Should I go out from the balance DI line out (LM2) into the XLR line in (2i2)?, or line out to 1/4" input on the 2i2. I guess my question is if I go XLR to XLR, would I be using instrument level or...

what's the differ between string-through-body and topload?

Im noticing more sustain with a body through. Could be my imagination, but I do believe its there. Also I like the idea of the strings goingthrough the solid body and I like the angle thats being made at the bridge. Given the choice I prefer body though, if I didn't have the choice I wouldn't...

Valvecaster (DIY tube-based overdrive) for bass

HI. I made the valvecaster using a 12au7 tube and it sounds really nice on my passive Fender Jazz bass,. I did a mod however, which allows for more low end to come through the pedal. Thius circuit is originally for guitar. However im getting warm, tube overdrive and use it alot

    GK Bacline 600 Direct Out

thanks alot b-string. im going through the DI with a higher volume to compensate. If I use send I loose my boost. But DI is quite a bit lower output.I guess I was wondering if DI is often use with another source of amplification at the reciving end, like a PA or such.

    GK Bacline 600 Direct Out

I have a question regarding the direct out vs the send out. I am trying to run a signal to my PC soundcard for recording/online jam session. I find that when I use the send out (FX loop) I get a stronger signal than when I use a XLR cable from the direct out. The direct out has a weaker signal...

    Ibanez SR700 question

thanks winston that is excellent advice. I was thinking of trying D'addario chromes. Ive never used these before, Since I dont want to take too much of the highs out of the tone, I though this a good choice. I wonder if anyone could comment on this point.

    Ibanez SR700 question

Hi, MartinG1957 thnaks for you reply. In a nutshell I find many people enjoy these mid and higher Ibanez for their feel, play and weight, but perhaps, like me, wish to have a warmer, more classic tone. This is my dilemma, and the only way out I can see is to customize. Thats a good suggestion...
