Lighter-weight tuners for Fender Kingman v2?

I have a "thing" for short scale acoustic basses - not for gigging, just for around the house - and I bought a Fender Kingman v2 last summer. I like the neck very much (pretty much like a Mustang), but I hate the neck dive. I can compensate somewhat with clever strapping, but I REALLY want to...

Flat wounds on a Taylor GS Mini-e Bass?

Hey, potetuck, I realize it was 6 months ago, but regarding your having put Aquila Copper Flat Spirals on a Taylor GS mini-e bass... I have one of those, too. How well did that experiment work over a longer term? Would you recommend them, was the intonation acceptable, etc? Thank you.

Flatwound strings for Squier mini Precision bass?

I've seen a few posts about a special run of La Bella strings for the mini P bass as maybe or maybe not be still available, with dead links to a roadie URL, but La Bella does seem to have a 760FM-P set of Deep Talkin' flatwounds available, designed specifically for the mini P. They are thick...

    GK MB112 issue

I have the same problem! Hiss/crackle only from the 112 extension cabinet and not at all when only the main amp is turned on. I was thinking I might have a bad microphone cable. What did you find out?

No longer available Veillette Paris, semi-custom, medium scale, 2013

I ordered it that way and very much like having it that way (and I believe you helped build it, Martin Keith, and it turned out very well!) And I am keeping it, having changed my mind about going short scale. And if I can ever afford a second quality instrument, it will be a Martin Keith Elfin.

SOLD Phil Jones briefcase combo amp, 100 watts, 2015

Because bassists tend to argue the relative merits of 12” and 15” speakers, most people are very surprised at what comes out of the two 5-inch Piranha speakers. Superb sound! Very portable –easy to pack into the back seat of a car and easy to carry around, at only 28 lbs. It’s in mint condition...

No longer available Veillette Paris, semi-custom, medium scale, 2013

I love this bass and don’t really want to sell it but every now and then I want to go back to playing a 30” scale instrument (more natural to me). [I’ve been talked into keeping it and adapting. I can’t delete the ad but I’ve edited it to provide information for those interested in an...

    SOLD Kinal Kompact acoustic-electric, 2012

It IS exceptionally well made and I have thoroughly enjoyed many, many hours with it. But I took my wife with me to a conference in Berlin, and now I have to pay big on my credit card... I will still have my fine Veillette Paris and a couple cheap instruments.

    SOLD Kinal Kompact acoustic-electric, 2012

It’s 4-string, 30-inch scale, fretted, with side dots, bone nut and saddle, Schaller tuners. The headstock veneer is Birdseye maple, front and back. The maple neck with rosewood fretboard feels like a fine, slim electric bass neck. Nut is 1 1/2". Last year, I had the frets dressed and the...
