How about a tribute to Leo Fender? Jazz Bass body with ‘51 P control plate and P bridge cover, Stingray pickguard and pickup in a G&L MFD cover and two band EQ in stacked knobs, and color based on the Adam Clayton tribute basses.

I played in a Johnny Cash tribute in college and there was a school owned upright bass in the room we were practicing in. I played it for about two songs and put it back because it felt like I’d hurt myself if I kept going. Sure, I knew where the notes were and could make it through some songs...

Not quite as my only pedal (I do have a preamp pedal) but my bass signal chain in my HXFX is something like (in no particular order) HPF, Compressor, drive, delay, octave reverb, chorus, octave down… maybe something else too? Not feeling something? There’s a long list to pick from to change it...

Same here. There was one Sunday in particular where halfway through the last song I was frustrated and just wanted to hear something I was playing come through the mains, so I just started playing random notes up and down the neck and still could not hear anything. Super frustrating for the...

It's helped me to have someone else play the bass for a minute while I listen to the PA out front so I know it sounds OK. I know it feels/sounds isolated or disconnected, but knowing it isn't like that for the audience helps me just relax and play to what I am hearing. Eventually you'll develop...
