MXR M82 Bass Envelope Filter power issues

I own three of the MXR envelope pedals, never have used a battery, have powered them with everything from a Voodoo Labs 2+ to an Amazon special mini-supply to a good old One-Spot daisy cable, and they've been trouble free. Could be a problem with the power jack on your particular example, in...

Octave pedal- What's your favorite and why? My current review.

Currently using an OC5 in Poly mode for octave down, and then I have a Meatbox reissue that I use purely as a low frequency EQ/enhancer to make everything thick like molasses. The 'box by itself is an outstanding sub-octave pedal for big beef, but my lordy does it get out of control quickly...

How do you transport your mics?

All my sound accessories, microphones, iem receivers and cables live in craftsman Tradestack drawers now. Similar to Milwaukee pack-out or dewalt tough system or rigid pro-system. I can roll in one hand truck stack of tool boxes and work out of a stack of drawers for everything. I found 3d...

    Which IEM system?

I recently switched from four xvive u4 units to the phenyx four channel rack unit and have been happy with the change. I have xlr-to-trs cables for the connection. Phenyx often has 20% off coupons, so keep eye open. I was able to sell my used U4's for more than I paid for the Phenyx.

Tips for soundcheck and running sound while playing bass?

Ok good, this was going to be my suggestion, you play for a bit to establish your stage level, then just repeat it while you adjust monitors and then house. I will agree it's all sub optimal. Also, if you play venues often, save the mix once it's good and reuse it next time.

The 1960 Jazz Bass I had a chance to play today

The back page of the manual had descriptions, almost advertising, for the P bass and J bass. It described the Jazz as "our brand new companion to the Precision bass" or something like that. It was calling out how the Jazz was a brand new model.

Oh don't worry, he's keeping the original case in its current condition with the bass.

The 1960 Jazz Bass I had a chance to play today

I have had a hardshell Fender case for sale on the FB marketplace for a few months now. Yesterday a gentleman messaged me asking if he could buy it because it matched the old case that his bass came with and he'd like to have a newer, nicer one for it. He semi casually dropped that it was a...

    IEMs on a budget

I have four of the Xvive wireless IEM systems that I use with two different bands. While there are drawbacks and some shortcomings, they have not failed us at any of the gigs or rehearsals where I've used them in the 18 months I've had them. They did not play well with my G30 guitar system...

    Any opinions on this PA?

Buying a digital mixer with a virtual control surface (meaning a tablet) and learning to use it "in the heat of battle" will serve you for much longer than starting with an analog physical mixer.
