I broke the crappy plastic nut of my Rockbass too. I got a little pice of mahogany and made myself a nut. Cost me nothing, looks better and sounds better than before. :P You just need a little piece of nice wood, some sandpaper and a lot of patience. Take care

Usually I slant the pickup closer to the higher strings. But since my current bass has pickups already balanced for the different strings (according to warwick), i use the pickups completely leveled.

I have a gig coming up tomorrow night without rehearsal in a mount (it's my second gig with this band). If I survive this, I'm the man. Update: 5h before going out and I'm already nervous. Why do we do this to ourselves again? lol

Option 4. I tend do dig a lot with my right hand. Specially when playing rock and music that is on top of the beat. So I need room to have that dynamic freedom. I like low action, don't get me wrong. But lately, low action basses don't work that well with me.
