I may be wrong, but I believe the serial number search on the Warwick website only works for German made basses. I think the "RB" in your serial number indicates it is a Rockbass which is not German made. Someone with more experience may be able to chime in. Its a great looking bass.

They aren't cheap, but damn they make the bass look complete. I cringed when I bought my JAN III but I love the way it looks and don't regret it one bit.

Was it the ball or the untapered portion of the string that gave you issues? I have an untapered .145 B on my corvette. I barely had to compress the untapered portion of the string just in front of the ball for it to fit. Sounds great though.

I finally found time to finish the $$ project up. This is a 2008 German Corvette $$ I picked up a couple weeks back. I've installed a brass JAN III, Gotoh machine heads, Schaler strap locks, new truss rod cover, and D'addario XLB145 & EXL170BT strings. I couldn't be happier with how it came out...

I paid the stupid high price on eBay because I was not thinking. I recommend calling the Warwick custom shop. I ordered my truss rod cover through them and it was much cheaper than online and shipping was very quick. I suspect the JAN III will also be much cheaper.

Just got my new brass JAN III and truss rod cover. I'm loving this project. Also got a new set a black Gotoh machine heads. I like how they are a little larger diameter than the originals. I put them on my Ibanez as well. Just waiting on my D'Addario BT strings with the .145 low B. More pics to...

Thank you for the input everyone. I'm not sure the .145 comes in a taper though. The set I am looking at is the D'addario EXL170BT + .145 through bass strings online. I believe the Corvette is 36" from the ball end to the nut, then about 1.5" from the nut to the low B tuner.
