    Bridge options for Sting Bass

I still don't have it set up right. It still has the stock strings that I assume they are 45s. It was a surprise gift from my wife and I didn't play it beforehand. When I first played it the action was high and the neck a little bowed so I tightened up the truss rod about a 1/8 of a turn and...

    is it worth it?

I have an old Hondo P-Bass copy that a bonehead freind of mine talk me into defretting and stipping. I wish I never did it. I know the Hondo has no real value but I defaced my first real bass. The first bass I ever played on stage with. Now I regret it. Not only that, it doesn't even play that...

    Bridge options for Sting Bass

I just got the Fender P Bass Sting Sig model. It's a very nice bass but that crappy bridge has to go. I know the Bad Ass III is a direct replacement for that bass, but I'm thinking that the look of it would take away from the vintage look of the bass. I also know there's a Fender bridge that's a...

    Self-taught....Thanks dad

I taught myself with the help of a guitarist I knew and he wanted to start a band. I learnd on an acoustic guitar with 4 strings on it. this was back in HS. I then joined the school band because I wanted to play bass in stage band, (jazz band), so they made me play tuba for the marching band...

What amp do you use to practice?

For the longest I use to use a Korg Pandora PX4 but I got a Fender Rumble 15 to have something to plug into. It's a POS but it sounds nice when I plug a guitar into it. If I ever gig again, I'll get something better.

    For the SX owners

I like that one. That's a good color and pickguard combo. Funny I didn't see that one on the Rondo website.

    Bass Guitar Brands

If you want to surprise him, Why don't you get him a value pack. This is a package that comes with a bass, amp, strap, tunners and other things. It's not the best bass in the world but it's a good start and I'm sure he'll like it. If he doesn't, then just return it and he can get what he wants...

    Bass Guitar Brands

Well, first some questions for you. Is your boyfriend a beginner or has he been playing for a while? If he does play, what kind of music does he like to play? Does he own other basses or is this his first? And the most important, how much do you want to pay?

    Fender converts

Back in the 80,s when I started to play, I had a Hondo P bass copy. It was OK but I wanted something better. I knew someone with a late 70,s P bass with maple neck. I didn't like it much. Same with other Fenders that I played. Back then I also hade a chance to by a Telecaster bass for $200. I...

Massive Pawnshop Score : '74 Jazz Bass $ 64.64 out the door

Think of the idiot that sold it to the pawn shop. He got far less than the 70 bucks so the pawn shop can make a profit. Good find. Enjoy it.

    Question about a bass amp.

I've seen this amp, a Crate BT220 Bass Combo, that they're selling for $199.99 on the Musician's Friend website. What gives? This seems cheap for a 220w amp. Is this a bargain or some cheap crap they're trying to unload?

    The first bass you had!

My first bass was a Hondo Pro P bass copy. Black with black pickguard and maple neck. Got it for about $200 back in 83 or 84 when I was in high school. It was ok for the time but it was crap. A few years after that I got a Music Man Sabre which was my main bass when I was in a band and would...
