I'm an idiot. I forgot about the fan circuit. The 40's preamp board is lacking the components necessary to hook up the fan.. :roflmao: Well, I ordered a soldering iron capable of soldering such small components, I'll have to practice on something first, then I'll swap the tiny b******s over...

It worked fantastically on my GIB 5, though it's finished in black paint under the logo. On a bare (?) headstock, sanding with fine grit paper would probably be a good idea. But the Goof-Off would definitely save you some sanding.

You can clean them from the inside. There's both a tiny hole in the back of the pots and an opening on the side with 3 (terminals) legs. The legs are sort of obscuring the view of the opening, but you'll find it.

My 500 just took 2 seconds to light up. And I was just "jamming" about an hour ago. The delay seems shorter after an initial power on.

Whatever comes of this, we need to try for one on 4/3/21. Now, it could be the mushrooms, but it just feels right to me.
