The Muckelroy Bass Club Part 1 (It's high time!)

Just sold my upgraded proplayer 5. Will never sell my Renegade sisters...6 string fretless and 5 string fretted. The proplayer is a beauty though...the new owner is tickled to have her. :bassist:

17.5mm bridge string spacing Fender Precision bass

Well, I am gobsmacked! I just played the Ultra II and the playability of the neck seems to make the wider string spacing much less of an issue than I had thought. Pleasanty surprised compared to my last attempt at playing a P bass, the Sadowsky UV40. Perhaps the narrower nut (1.625")...

17.5mm bridge string spacing Fender Precision bass

Excellent build post... you have quite the skill set there sir! Impressive. Thanks for the share and the info and so glad you are enjoying the fruits of your ex, but way above my pay grade. The one thing my Ultra II has in common with your project build is the 1.62 nut width...I am hopeful...

17.5mm bridge string spacing Fender Precision bass

I tried several years ago on a Sadowsky UV40. Perhaps I didn't give it enough of a chance but after 15-20 minutes I just couldn't hit the ajoining string consistently. I'm sure a better player would adapt easily, but the widest string spacing I've had and felt comfortable with was my Rick 4003...

17.5mm bridge string spacing Fender Precision bass

Good point! I have done some research and the general consenus is that the string does not have to be perfectly centered over the pick up poles...the sound/tone shouldn't suffer. Here is a stock pic of the Ultra II. Note the E string isn't perfectly centered over the P pickup from the factory...

17.5mm bridge string spacing Fender Precision bass

How about one of these? https://www.allparts.com/products/bb-3343-badass-iii-4-string-bass-bridge?variant=40966630047801 btw: got a great deal on a demo Fender American Ultra II Precision Bass in Avalanche white. The stock Fender High mass bridge has no adjustment laterally but...

17.5mm bridge string spacing Fender Precision bass

Thanks for the input Matt. Appreciated. I am exploring options for my first ever Pbass, mainly for home recording, and considering a deviation from my traditional 5/6 string preference to a more traditional 4 string. I am accustomed to 16.5mm string spacing a'la Warwick Corvettes and thumbs...

17.5mm bridge string spacing Fender Precision bass

I checked the website...it seems this bridge is no longer available...I found a Schaller that may be a good option... I'm curious if the hole spacing will match a modern P or J bass?

    SOLD Mesa Subway 4x10 mint

I'm in same boat...the cost of shipping (even with Pirateship) precludes that option for my mint SW210. Hopefully we can find a buyer locally eventually. I don't have the original box either, making it that much more of a pain to ship. GLWTS.

Official Mesa Boogie Subway Series Club

I just picked up my second 115 via GC, but it was online and an open box. Had it shipped to the local GC as I wanted to test it first before getting it home. (Shook the whole store with a Markbass 500 head!:bassist:) Not one Mesa anything at the GC I picked it up at...

Hercules wide-neck stands are no more...

Getting this for my Muckelroy Fretless 6. The best I could find at the moment. Would prefer without the capo holder... maybe I can unscrew it...:eyebrow: Wall use only. :rollno: Strummm
