"Wow ... I'm playing some cool stuff tonight"

Sure, that's why I asked. So what are some of the silly things you do? :)

"Wow ... I'm playing some cool stuff tonight"

Oh I see. Sorry, I'm European and not a native speaker. But I meant, the "man thing" can't be bad :D

The Mediocre Bassist Club, pt. 2: Bigger! (Better, not so much.)

I admire you guys for owning up, I just have to tell you that. Bass players are a nice lot! (mostly) :bassist:

    Bass Player Pet Peeves

I'm not saying it's a sin, I'm only saying it annoys me like hell :p And no, I don't think it's the same as dancing (or moving) to the music. Dancing is great! I guess the mouth moving is supposed to help the musician concentrate on the melody or something... Dunno I've never been told to try...

    Bass Player Pet Peeves

Maybe I used the wrong words, but whatever... The face making and mouth moving is mostly done by top class jazz artists (IME). If they are such great musicians, able to play all that complicated stuff, then surely they can learn to keep their face straight, it can't be that hard, right...

    Bass Player Pet Peeves

Musicians who make faces or move their mouth while playing, especially while soloing or improvising. Or double up as if they had diarhoea. Dunno, I think it just distracts whoever is watching them play. Also sometimes I get the feeling they think it makes them look cool and are just putting up a...

    name some bass woman similarity

I'm a woman and I find bass masculine, while men mostly think it's feminine. So I guess it's whatever floats your boat ;) :D

guitar more difficult than bass! HA!

So true. I used to think bass is boring (or easy, if you like), but now I think otherwise (duh), I changed my mind for good when I first heard interesting (or more challenging) stuff played on it. :hyper:

The perfect metaphor on Bass vs. Guitar....

My experience is, 90 percent (maybe more) of people only ever notice the singer. The most of the remaining 10 percent will notice the musician who does solos and plays fast/virtuoso stuff. :crying: In an average rock band that's usually the guitarist.

The perfect metaphor on Bass vs. Guitar....

I disagree, most women will notice the guitard much sooner. Even if they find the instruments similar... what about guitar solos? I'm not talking about myself of course ;)
