I find the people who are claiming to be mad or surprised by the fact that highways wear faster to be very funny! It's no secret that they do, in fact I suspect that's why many people buy one in the first place!

yeah i have been noticing that people are asking rediculous prices for the old highway ones on ebay... the ones they had up two days ago were more money than a brand new one...we're talking like 800 to 1000 dollars

woah, woah woah! Let's not exaggerate here boys!!!!! I am with you that there is really NOTHING 'special' about it, HOWEVER, as I pointed out three posts ago; they can be had for $850....that's $100 dollars more than the HWY 1.

In my failed attempt of trying to locate one of the now discontinued White Highway One precision basses with the tort pickguard (the color is discontinued not the bass itself) I got into contact with a Fender dealer in NV who has posted a video of one that they had in their shop some 6 months...

I doubt that the music shop is at fault here. My local fender dealer in town is probably moves more fender and instruments for that matter than any other shop in the state of Montana (don't laugh too hard, yes I said Montana) and he told me when I went to order a bass through him to try...
