I started with the D'Addario Half Rounds but switched to the GHS Brite Flats. I preferred the tone of the Brite Flats.

At one time or another I gigged on bass, drums, rhythm guitar, and lead guitar. I was only very good on bass, with the others being passable but nothing special. I now only gig on bass, but play rhythm guitar when I'm practicing my vocals.

According to a Reverb.com ad the Warren Ellis bass guitar is made in Korea. I have a Warren Ellis tenor guitar that was made in Korea and the quality is very good. $799 still seems a bit expensive but not as bad since its being made in Korea (I paid $419 for my Warren Ellis tenor guitar).

30 1/2 inch scale is the standard length for a short scale bass. It does look interesting. My two concerns are the pickup and the price. $799 seems to be a lot of money for a bass that was most likely made in China.

The GHS Short Scale Brite Flats are 049 - 108 ( SHORT SCALE BRITE FLATS™ ). They work very well on my short scale basses if you are looking for a half-round string. I personally think anything less than 105 for a short scale E string would be too floppy.

Try GHS Brite Flats ( SHORT SCALE BRITE FLATS™ ). I find they're the best compromise between flats and rounds. They work great on my short scale basses.

I do my own setups on all of my electric instruments (bass and guitar). My acoustic guitars I have a luthier do the setup. Setting the intonation is a bit more difficult on an acoustic guitar.
