    2 guitarists plus a Keyboardist?

I’m going to resurrect this ancient thread because most of the responses are so bizarre… I play in a 60s/70s cover band and we have 2 guitars and a keyboard. I could list hundreds of songs that have this lineup (probably thousands, including a LOT of Beatles songs, not just 2!), and in fact...

    I fear I’ve come down with… “guitar player’s shoulder”

The majority of the "treatments" advocated have been addressed at straps and similar interventions, assuming that the problem is caused by the weight of the bass across the trapezius and nearby structures. I think there is not enough information to make this diagnosis, so recommending a...

    Genzler Amplification Club

Thanks so much for the reply! (And to smogg as well—I had seen that video a while ago, but I think I remembered it showing each cab individually, so thanks for getting me to look at it again). I’ll be ordering a 210 soon.

Question for the group... I have a Nu Classic 112 and want to get a second cab. For some flexibility and variety (as well as weight/cost), I'm thinking of getting a NC 210, rather than the 212. (Probably would not go with a 2nd 112, though) In my googling, I've seen the combination of the...

Ashdown MAG 410T Deep: what else sounds like it but weighs less?

I don’t know why it wouldn’t be a factor, since most of us have to schlep our own gear, frequently in small cars, or even public transport. It seems just as legitimate as cost, reliability, or any other feature that isn’t “how does it sound”?

Ashdown MAG 410T Deep: what else sounds like it but weighs less?

I actually had a second NEO 112, but I don't recall that it gave me the sound I am thinking of when I used them together (although I can say I probably didn't put in enough effort trying different EQ settings, horn settings, etc). I ended up selling it. I also bought and sold a NEO 212 and it...

Ashdown MAG 410T Deep: what else sounds like it but weighs less?

I may do that, although it's about 3 1/2 hours away.

Ashdown MAG 410T Deep: what else sounds like it but weighs less?

I've been reading about the Mesas. The price is doable on the 212, but not the weight. And getting 2 112's would be out of budget. I've been looking at the new GK Neo 212. And Revsound. Unfortunately, there is no place within reasonable distance to try anything.

Ashdown MAG 410T Deep: what else sounds like it but weighs less?

There's an Ashdown MAG 410T Deep cab at our drummer's house, where we practice. It's been there as long as I've been in the band, and I use it every week, instead of bringing my own cab (GK NEO 112). I really like the Ashdown's sound, but I would hate to have to transport it, due to size and...

Any suggestions to get this sound?

Hello TB! I love the sound of the bass on this version of the song. In pics and other vids, it looks like he plays Jazz basses (one of them without a Fender logo on the headstock). I can't find much online regarding amps (a mention of Kustom in one spot), strings, effects or really anything...

No, not really anything specific. When I think “classic rock” usually the first thing to pop into my head is Grand Funk. In terms of speakers, I was considering trading in the 212MBE and ordering Avatar 212 (or 2126). Do you have an opinion about the “classic rockfulness” of any of those (or...

I wish the classifieds were a little more user friendly in terms of searching and filtering. I think right now there are 70-something pages of active items in the amps section alone!

Actually, that’s my main amp currently, and I really like it (except for a lot of noise that has developed in the boost setting—gotta figure that one out eventually). Looking for something new for a change of pace.

Thanks for that tip. I always forget to look for gear on TB—I’m so used to looking at GC, etc

Hi, I’m looking for a new head and was hoping to get some recommendations (or a stern talking to about using the Search function, with links to previous threads). Looking for a classic rock sound (2009 American Standard P, cab is GK 212MBE, which may not be ideal), solid state or hybrid, ~500W...
