Genzler Amplification Club

In addition to trying out the new Re/Q this weekend, I also had the pleasure of introducing a young buck to my Genzler rig. We had a new band “open” for us (took the first set) and he asked if he could use my setup. I willingly and happily obliged him. He was worried when he saw my pedalboard as he said he’s a “clean” player. I assured him, everything he was playing through from the board to the amp would be the most pleasant “clean” he’d ever played through.

He was very happy.

Hoping it translates into some new kit for him.

Likewise, The old bastardized NC-212T made an appearance this weekend. The guy I sold it to had the cajones to do what I didn’t want to do; take a razor blade and disassemble the cab to cut out all the added batting. He loves it…even if it’s NOT a neo 210…:woot:

Thanks so much for the reply! (And to smogg as well—I had seen that video a while ago, but I think I remembered it showing each cab individually, so thanks for getting me to look at it again). I’ll be ordering a 210 soon.

As is frequently said on this thread, there are really no bad choices with Genzler gear. I'm lucky to have a local store that carries some of the Bass Array and Nu-Classic cabs in stock. I started with the NC210T + NC112T combination which was great - and then I tried out the NC212T and loved that too. If I only feel like bringing one cab it's typically the 212 but it's really nice having the option of the 210+112 depending on the gig (or even the 212+112 if I really want people to know I'm there).

Hey all, I am still learning my through the Magellan 800, love it all so far! Just curious if anyone can shed some light on the interaction between the drive section and the A/B contour. I read that the drive has a low and high end roll off? If so, would adding the B contour take even more low/high off as its mid bumped? If so is it better to use the A (mid scoop) to equalize the whole thing and get drive and bottom end...or am I reading all this wrong? I just find sometimes with the drive on I lose some lows versus the clean channel (and either A/B contour on - both are great).

Yes I have and will test it myself but I would love some feedback from experienced users and possibly the man himself. Cheers!

Second time buying this dang pedal and for my uses it's an expensive Bluetooth aux. Very happy for the aux in put on the MG800 but was wondering why no one has put Bluetooth aux built into a head yet? My work around have been a mustang micro plugged in the same as I have the element here but I prefer to keep it in a case with headphones for wireless practice on the go. Now I have the element which offers a lot more functions but none that I don't already have on my board or home studio.

Yeah, I'm there with you. Love the blue tooth on the Mustang Micro and use my laptop to stream my practice Playlists into it. I just sort of forgo my amp and effects when I practice. Less than ideal.

Yea, I work 24hr shifts and work in the woods often so the micro and my EHB or now my little use bass are the right tool for that job. I also use my surround sound to play backing tracks and jam but there's times like now my son is home sick and watching a movie on that. This set up works but I just didn't know if there was any reason BT can't/hasn't been integrated. Mesa seems to be on the right track with adding USB ports. I would love to see Genzler become more appealing to my generation and younger (I'm 36) and I think it'll have to be technology. Darkglass has dropped numbers balls lately but i haven't seen anyone go pick them up.

On a side note. I started using the bogner in the micro and found some really fun usable tones that cut through nicely. If you haven't tried stuff outside of the cyan and violet.

I’m in my early 30’s and just got an MG-800.

I use the Darkglass for about 90% of my daily practice.


have you thought about just using a stereo Bluetooth adapter to aux in?

I've seen BT integrated into some Hotone or Mooer amps, but nothing I can or would gig with. Especially with prices up across the board, I'd like to see newer tech, more like Bergs, which use BT for their footswitch.

Though I will admit it isn't a technology o want to rely on for gigs necessarily, having it for practice or the option is nice.

I'm 35, so I'm there with you.

Pulsing rhythm driving the crowd through a set. Behind me a 212 bass array straight over slant. Bass plugged directly into a Genzler Magellan 800 Forced Induction. It's taller to accommodate the ReQ controls and 4otF controls. It has a Bluetooth AUX and a foot switch to switch channels and control the HPLP filters and contours, and 4otF buttons.

So I drank the koolaid! I went from the 350combo plus another BA10-2, with the help and a smoking deal from the manufacturer, to the Magellan 800/BA 15/BA 210slt. Wow! I remember now why my favorite rig of yesteryear was a Seymour Duncan JBL loaded 15 and matching 210 with a GK 800rb sitting on top. We're talking mid 80's- great times! This Genzler stuff is simply amazing. I will never use the volume capability of this rig but the tone.......!, the capabilities.....! Did I say "Wow!" already? I'm keeping the two BA 10-2's but need a home for the 350 with cradle and combo carrycase package and a twice used 4OTF pedal. Just cannot get acclimated to pedals, too much of a minimalist plus now I have overdrive. Will post in classifieds soon. The BA10-2's are crazy for their size, the 15 & 210, well......... just insane! Thanks Mr. Genzler!

This is such a great pairing and is my home practice rig right now (summer big stage rig) as it’s just so hard to neuter it for indoor gigs. Lots of power on tap that I find easier to tame using the NC-212T for my indoor winter gigs.
