Thank you for the responses. I went to see the the Peavey Foundation with the ‘10’ serial number mentioned above. The asking price was $300. The year of manufacture was unknown. The overall condition was poor. It needs body work, paint and new frets. Too much of a project so I decided to pass.

Hi folks! I saw a 4 string Peavey Foundation bass for sale locally with a serial number 1053xxxx. It has a round string tree, soap bar type pickups with “peavey” in the right lower corner, no truss rod cover, and the headstock reads “Peavey Foundation Crafted in the USA”. Anyone know what year...

Fender facing class-action lawsuit alleging millions of players were overcharged for guitars

What are the damages? The gear appreciated in value as a result of inflation. Fender should ask the court to compel the class members to return the gear for a full refund, then resell the stuff at the higher used prices. What’s next, suing your stock broker when the market goes up?

Could a pedal be hacked via malicious firmware?

Theoretically, the Line 6 Download Monkey might be on the payroll of a malicious foreign actor, so yeah, you have to be careful.

I’m in. Each member of the class might get a coupon for 8 bonus bucks off their next Fender purchase at Musicians Friend.

What would you do? (same venue back2back)

Open the second show with the Happy Birthday song, then inform the audience you forgot to sing it at the show last week so you came back. Thank the crowd, say goodnight see you all next year then walk off the stage. Once you hear the chanting for an encore, return to the stage and give them...

It’s the first post by sound chaser that started this club in 2007, back when you could get a nice T-40 for $300. Remember? Edit: Or a Patriot for $50.

For all the reasons stated above, I use local pickup only and will only sell to my neighbor.

    ... I deserve it! ( Reverb Fraud)

A scam works best when the victim thinks he is taking advantage of the other guy. A coveted dream bass listed at 50% off market price with PayPal protection might compel a buyer to disregard due diligence in order to close the deal asap before another predator comes along and gobbles up the...

    10.5V DC power supply?

Axtman, did you find a replacement 10.5v 300ma adapter for the akai riff-o-matic? I also have a unit without power supply. Do you know if a non-Akai adapter will work? Thanks

Thank you for the encouraging reply. I was not aware the ash bodies are heavier. If the 2g and 3g necks are similar in weight, it might work well for me. I’ll weigh the bodies when I get them apart, and report the results in the event the bathroom scale can distinguish between the two. Thanks...

I’m considering putting a 3gen fury neck on a 1gen fury body, but I’m concerned the swamp ash body may be too light resulting in neck dive. Has anyone tried this swap? Thanks.
