I am likely the ancient one here. I started playing in 1958 at the age of 14. Still playing 3 gigs a week plus some casuals.

Bass playing. It is a great way to spend your time.....and your money!

So, I had a gig last night and took my RJIV and it delivered and then some. I played it through my SWR Golight 410 cab and SWR Baby Blue II head, which is only 160w, but has PLENTY of power. I had my master volume at maybe 4 for a large room.

I've been taking my Alembic to rehearsal for the last month or so because the band leader requested I pick one bass and stick to it, which is fair. The Alembic just doesn't fit not matter what I try. The RJIV cuts through the mix, has an authoritative tone, and just looks cool which never hurts. So, I think the RJIV has become my #1 go to for this band.

Hah. I don't think I am cool but I am blessed to play with some great musicians and being with them has caused me to improve more in the last few years. Not having a day gig is a big help.

Received a new to me Mesa D-800 this morning. What a great amp. All my basses sound fantastic through it.

It's not. The Jack Daniels Peavey has a 21 fret neck with truss rod wheel. G Bass has a 21 fret neck with hanging 21st fret. So at least something HAS to be different.

I’m considering putting a 3gen fury neck on a 1gen fury body, but I’m concerned the swamp ash body may be too light resulting in neck dive. Has anyone tried this swap? Thanks.

I don't have direct experience but the few advertisement that I found said 35", like the G-Bass.
