The horn is going to hiss I don't care about that I was looking for the source of the crackle/ popping and it's my bass that's causing the problem.

Your right it is. I plugged it into a different head and cabinet and it did the same thing. It's going to the shop on Tuesday. The only reason I was worried Is because when horns go bad they crackle now that I know it's the bass I'm kinda relieve it's an easier fix.

I would much rather that be the case. Some of the knobs on the bass produce hiss when adjusted. Guess that could be eluding to a problem with the horn then?

Could consider a gk 800rb. It has the bi amp feature. 100 watts high amp, and 300 watts low amp. Could make for a nice setup.

Yep run either a hartke lh1000 (live shows) or an Ampeg svt 3 pro (recording) through a GK neo 8x10. Either one sounds good I am thinking about getting rid of the 3 pro and getting a 1001rb or 2001rb to pair with it.
