Happened to be a while back. Sounds like the pickup is out of phase. Switch the hot and ground wire on your p pickup; meaning solder the hot to ground, and the ground to where the hot should be.

Yes, on mine the bass side is flat and the treble side pops up and is beveled. I think it helps identify which side is alnico 2 and which side is alnico 5. On the Pro I, the side with alnico 2 has a blue marker going across the bottom of the bobbin.

Correct, Aguilar does not make the 3 and 2 configuration split-coil pickup. Their selections are all equal-sized split-coils. So I had to buy a 5-string and a 4-string pickup, desolder and mix-n-match them to make it fit the Fender body and pickguard.
