my 1st Bass -- what is it?

Yeah, now that I've broken the truss rod I suppose it will be rattling from the inside... I adjusted the neck tilt to make up for the new perma-bow. Far from perfect but good enough for me. Thanks for the reply, I'll be testing every inch of this bass for rattles.

my 1st Bass -- what is it?

I was just talking about brands/labels. I meant that you would think, ideally, a Fender guitar would be made by Fender, in America since Fender is originally an American company. For someone to say "a Japanese Fender Made by Cort in Korea" is too many places/adjectives in my opinion, to...

my 1st Bass -- what is it?

Yeah, people rip on them a lot but I like my Cort. And they make a good toaster oven, too.

my 1st Bass -- what is it?

Yeah, I'll check that when I replace the strings. I thought Cort was always a Korea-based company though: Invalid Link Removed Cort Guitars - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I gather that Cortez=Japanese and Cort=Korean but if you've got other sources I can read I'd really like to see them...

I'm pretty sure Cort also made my toaster oven.

my 1st Bass -- what is it?

Yeah, I read the other day that 50 percent of the world's guitars are built in Korea. Cort probably has built a large fraction of that 50 percent through their various contracts, over the decades. My strat was built by Cort, in Indonesia. In another forum I read, somebody had a "Japanese...

Thank you, that is a very useful reminder. I will take my time with this.

    The CORT Club (Part 2)

Yeah I figure if/when I get the neck off maybe I can date it... then compare dates to the pots and whatever else has a time stamp on it. Maybe there's even some serial numbers in there somewhere. Anyway, that won't be till I change the strings. When you say "stripped" do you mean the tilt...

my 1st Bass -- what is it?

Yeah, my first mission is to adjust that truss rod---definitely got some forward bow going on there. I like to take 24-48 hours to do that... gradual adjustments... I'm not sure if that sort of time investment is necessary--- it's just a precaution I prefer to take. I figure it's best to be as...

my 1st Bass -- what is it?

Awesome, thanks. From what I understand this is basically a Fender P Bass copy so there should be plenty of similarities.

my 1st Bass -- what is it?

I'm not sure about the difference between angle and curvature (ie truss rod), so any info/resources you've got'll be appreciated, and used to their fullest.

Yeah, I was worried I overpaid for this bass but I've taken a shine to it.

my 1st Bass -- what is it?

Any resources you can point me toward to learn to use this hex screw to adjust the "tilt of the neck?" Since truss rod adjusts curvature I'm assuming "tilt" refers to something else... I'm still just beginning to learn about these things. I enjoyed the sound 'soon as I brought it home (I bought...
