For the benefit of future people's research into this pedal, I just bought one and the answer to my above question is yes, the pedal does indeed take care of the timing for you when you bring one of the loops back in from having been dropped out. This pedal truly rocks.

Thanks man. That's good news. I didn't quite ask the second half of the question right though. My bad. So, if I've recorded stuff to Loop 1 and some overdub layers to Loop 2, then drop Loop 2 out for a while before bringing it back in, is it my responsibility to bring it back in bang on time...

Quick question: In 'sync' mode, does the Ditto quantize the two loop channels together? No quantize is possibly a deal-breaker for me. I know, practice makes perfect, but I wanna be playing music not messing around with pedals and worrying about my loops drifting out of time. Thanks man.

It's so frustrating isn't it. I get it as well when people moan about the rates. They seem to think you just spring up through the floorboard and music comes out of your arse by magic. No idea about the practice, driving, equipment purchasing, loading, unloading, learning, setting up, marketing...
