I would recommend a different type of effect instead of running the two together. Neither really likes an active bass, and running two super heavy fuzzes into each other tends to be a disappointing experience. In either order, I feel like great results wouldn't be achieved.

I've gotten pretty close or close enough to a few of their tones using a Zvex Woolly Mammoth. It'll distort and gate your sound, and completely kill all of your dynamics. That followed by an octave has gotten me a pretty convincing Phantom II sound. Just the mammoth and tuning to drop d can get...

I'm going to agree that you won't be able to find anything in the m9 that will be similar to the mammoth, assuming you want to use it as a gated, cut off sounding synth fuzz. You might be able to find something close to it when it's being used as a normal fuzz, but even that I'm not too sure...

Ah, much sympathy. I'm also in the boat of being filter-less, but I'd like to hold out for the bubble chamber rather than a less satisfying one. Hope your moog's problem is temporary! Maybe Taylor still has your prototype?

I've only listened to a bit of oizo when I've stumbled onto him from listening to other ed banger people... I've heard a few bass sounds from him though. Does he have a specific one that people recognize as his, or are we talking about a specific song?

Depends what you're using them for. I've never used the overdrive but I have used a fuzz factory. It's definitely not the most bass frequency friendly pedal. If you try to use it without some sort of blend or way to keep the lows in the signal using it for a bass line isn't going to be a...
