Best Headphones for Phil Jones Bass Buddy ?

Dag!! I started reading this thread because I thought I had blown my Phil Jones headphones!!! I have the same problem as you. They sounded great at first, then they developed distortion. Stopped using them for a few months. When I tried them again, they sounded great for awhile then started...

Who Has a Bass No One Else on this Board Has?? (Part 3)

Here are 2 Torzals by Jerome Little. I know they're unique because a lot of the design decisions were mine.

In praise of WEIRD LOOKING basses!

Hey man!!! The second one is MY bass!!! Have I been insulted or complimented? (It's an amazing, amazingly comfortable bass by the way.) Little Guitar Works | Handcrafted Ergonomic Basses and Guitars And just to add to the weirdness, here's a twisted headless! edit - this one I think as a...

    Help wanted with wiring diagram

Sir 6, The way you phrased that response makes me uneasy about something. When you say that unplugging the bass is the proper procedure do you mean it's proper to avoid draining the battery or do you mean I should even be unplugging my completely passive bass as well? If so, why?

    Help wanted with wiring diagram

Not the answer I wanted to hear but definitely the answer I needed to hear. Thanks again line6man, you ARE the man! I guess it's (literally) back to the drawing board on this one.

    Help wanted with wiring diagram

Thanks for replying line6man, I was actually hoping you were going to be the one to review this. But now, just to make sure no good deed goes unpunished, I have a few follow up questions: 1. There are 3 reasons I wanted to have the battery switched. I leave the cord in my bass all the time at...

    Help wanted with wiring diagram

I have made my best shot at a wiring for scheme for two magnetic pickups (master volume/blend) and a piezo pickup (separate volume) with a 3-way switch (mag only/both/piezo only). Additionally, I want the 3-way switch to turn off the piezo preamp battery when in the mag only position. I have...

Little guitar works Torzal twist bass

One thing to remember about the Torzal basses is that it isn't JUST the twist in the neck. It's also the light weight, the absolutely perfect balance, the scooped back, the shifting of the neck back towards the body. Jerome has really thought out every aspect of designing an ergonomic bass, the...

Little guitar works Torzal twist bass

I have also been doing a lot of stretching stuff. You may already be doing these things but I may have a few techniques you're not doing. PM me if you want.

Little guitar works Torzal twist bass

I have one. If you go to Jerome's site (which you probably already have), the one on the home page with the single MusicMan style pickup is mine. I really, REALLY love this bass! It's a very comfortable bass and much more natural feeling than you would think. Coming from a Fender Jazz, I...

    Woodpower bass

I like the rosewood fingerboard to make the red feathers 'pop' more. Also, what about painting the base palte of the bridge to match the red & yellow? Never mind I missed pages 2 & 3 of this post. Oops.

    First Build: 4string through-neck

I don't know if this is a good idea or not but it's what I came up with: Hollow out the wings as you suggest from the neck side of the wings and then 'plug' the hollowed out sections with something like 1 inch thick (or more?) wood blanks at the ends. It seems like this would give more...

de afwerking mk5-4f - blablas does another build diary

The way fan-frets were explained to me, there are 2 advantages: the intonation is more accurate and it combines the better sounding G string of short scales with the better sounding E string of long scales.

de afwerking mk5-4f - blablas does another build diary

Comments & Questions: 1. That body is looking amazing. 2. What is the headstock going to look like? 3. Your last build was also amazing. 4. The bass in post #13 is maybe the most beautiful single cut I've seen. I'm not just talking about the build, I'm talking about the design itself...

    Fiftieth Cataldo Bass build-G8R 41

I have to admit that I wasn't that thrilled with this project when I first saw it but I'm liking it-->loving it more & more as I see what the finished product is turning out to be. The headstock reshape in particular put me over the top. One of the nicest Fender variations I've seen & perfect...
