Double Bass Having Trouble hearing myself in band

Try standing in a different spot and get a small slave. Turn of the mid bass on the slave so you can hear it and as its pointing at you it shouldn't feed back. You can also feel the bass from the main amp. You pickups could Br failing and also your strings my be going dead? At the end...

Double Bass EUB to cover all basses or EB and DB

I think the db is difficult as being a fretless player moving over to db. The notes are the same and that's where it stops. get some lessons and learn to bow. Amplification in a band is v difficult, If you get standard pick ups and go through a General bass amp you will feed back and sound...

why did my Ampeg B115 fry?

I play fretless though an Ampeg svt 4 pro. The amp is split to separate low. To mid high and sends to an 18 sub and a 4 10 with a 3 way horn. I also use the Ampeg sub pedal which is from an svt 5. No problem with lots of headroom at big gigs If that's what you want its a great lasting rig...

    Isolating problem speakers - Yorkville 8x8 ?

Try layering at angles tracing paper sheets soaked in glue. I would use black and keep adding until its firm? Try small strips so the speaker can flex. Good luck.

Advice on buying head and cab for gigs

Although its a pain to be drowned out, by being louder just makes a mess of a sound. Talk to the drummer and the band, the drummer could be using heavy sticks to keep up with the band? Take down the volume, all bass set I use are set 5 on the 10 scale, no distortion, deep and clean. I'm old...

Double Bass what preamp for the stat b mic?

I use the Dyn b with a schertler pre amp 3. I originally had a mark 2 pre amp the 2 was quiet but lacked big dynamic. The 3 is very dynamic and with the control over all tone can cancel most of the feedback. It's well worth the match and drives the phantom at 10 volts.

Double Bass How can I eliminate feedback?

I use schertler bass pick ups pre amp and amps, there are feedback cancelling features on the pickup. Dyn b. on the pre amp 111 and the 3 into 1 amp. Also use a power amp with both going through two 360 power subs. I have two pick ups on the Dyn b type one on the bridge and one under the neck...

So I've decided on a fretless.

I have played for 30 yrs on a fretless. I have had 2 The 1st was a beautiful through neck yamaha, it sounded great but was impossible to play, as my 1st fretless I thought it was me! I then picked up a Gibson artist / explorer fretless bass (only ever seen the bass on the film back to the...

    svt vs fender tv

I have had fender 135 Bassman amps in the 70s rich but prone to blowing valves and speakers. I then had an Ampeg v4b this is a brilliant amp. It's power is big as it badges 120 watts I think but combined with 2 15" electro voice at 400 watts sounded great. Before anyone says there not...
