Fender Precision Deluxe 2010, any owners views

I've got a 96 American Delux P. About a month ago I did see/hear a bass player in a local cover band playing a new Deluxe P. Pretty straight ahead rock & roll kind of thing. Sounded just fine to me. Never saw him switch pups or do anything fancy, or slapping. Played with a pick and/or finger...

BTB 5 String, full step down

I'm running heavier gauge strings on my P now, so I'd considered this as well. Thanks for the feed back. DT

BTB 5 String, full step down

Been looking at Ibanez BTB 5 strings for a while. My current band tunes down a full step. Anyone tune a BTB 5 string this way? I'm concerned with a usless B string just flopping around. Of course I could use standard tuning and relearn all the songs, but well - you know.... :D TIA, DaveT

    thoughts on the SVT 15e?

I've got one of these. I replaced it with an SWR Goliath III Jr. The frequncy response on Ampeg cab is like, 50Hz-3kHz. It always sounded muddy, very hard to make work in small rooms, seemed to compete with a kic drum. The Goliath sounds great everywhere. Just plug it in and play. The...

    Need working band gear advice

I'm using a 2x10 SWR Goliath III jr. Works great for small places. If I need more coverage, I use a direct box into the PA. That said, most of the cover band bass players I've seen lately are using 4x10 cabs, mostly SWR types. They always sound great to me. My 1x15 Ampeg is in the garage...

    Ampeg or SWR?

Bought a used SWR Goliath III Jr 2x10 a while back to replace my 15" Ampeg cab. Love the sound of the SWR cab, works great for classic rock. I run a Peavey preamp and a Crown CE1000 for power. Every SWR cab I've heard always sounds better to me than an equivalent Ampeg. YMMV.....

Fender Deluxe Active P Bass Special

I have a 96 model with a maple "baseball bat" p-neck. Later models featured the Jazz neck. It's an OK bass. I've changed the PUPS to Barts, changed the preamp to a Sadowsky. Been a fun project guitar. It's gets gigged on a regular basis, stays in tune, sounds good, works for the classic rock I...

    Eden D210XST vs. D210XLT

I'm looking at these Eden cabs. It looks to me that the better of the two is the SXT cab. Has lower frequency response, higher power handling, lighter weight. Specs: XST 30-14K, 500 Watts, 59 Lbs XLT 48-14K, 350 Watts, 68 lbs It seems that the $50.00 price difference (Musicians...
