    Death Metal Flatwounds

If you want to use flats I suggest Chromes, they have a superb attack, powerful sound with great mids and in real world more defined than roundwounds in the mix. I usually go back and forth, flats or roundwounds, I like the flats sound sometimes, other times the rondwounds becouse they sound...

    Richter MX2 Active Blend Pot

Please, could you report how it performs and what are the other components involved? Bass, pickups, electronics... What type of system are you replacing?

weird strings please help me identify because they are not what I payed for.

Those are Dean Markley signature series nickelsteel, I bought a 5 string set some months ago, they are not that bad if you have a 4 string set, the B was darker and stiffer but the other four strings were decent.

Flatwounds for high E in fifths tuning

Pyramid make some superb "thin" flatwound strings, I used a .020 for the high F on my 8 string when I had flats on it.

    seymour duncan studio bass compressor

Anyone know if the Studio bass has the same problem with high output basses the double back had? My basses have a very high output and the double back was distorting my signal, the only reason I ended selling it but I remember that I really liked its comp action and trasparency. If the new...

What pre amp tube for SWR?

If you want some difference, a "softer" sound, a little more mids less highs... I recommend a Philips miniwatt ECC83, if you can find a long plate you'll be amazed, I've one on a SM 900 and the difference with the 12ax7EH is huge, the negative is it was around 70€ but Worth it ;) P.S.: I play a...

    SWR Fan Club II

Ok, yesterday was my first gig with the SM 900 and the "repaired" Goliath III, I'm totally amazed! :bassist::hyper: I can't understand people describing the SM 900 like poor on bass frequencies, this is a totally amazing powerful head with superb bass response, infact I had a cut on the bass pot...

    SWR Fan Club II

In fact that super wide tonal response is amazing, I've tried some of the best amps out there but when you connect this thing to a good speaker you can ear new things other heads can't reproduce... A little update, I returned the Jr to the seller becouse it had a bad speaker, the good news is...

    Markbass New York 804

Anyway, I was thinking the same thing like you, markbass=neodymium... When I received this cab I saw some pieces of polystyrene inside the cab (I saw those from the rear port), and one of those pieces was just between the basket and the membrane of one speaker, so I decided to dismount it and I...
