If you want to use flats I suggest Chromes, they have a superb attack, powerful sound with great mids and in real world more defined than roundwounds in the mix. I usually go back and forth, flats or roundwounds, I like the flats sound sometimes, other times the rondwounds becouse they sound...

Please, could you report how it performs and what are the other components involved? Bass, pickups, electronics... What type of system are you replacing?

Those are Dean Markley signature series nickelsteel, I bought a 5 string set some months ago, they are not that bad if you have a 4 string set, the B was darker and stiffer but the other four strings were decent.

Pyramid make some superb "thin" flatwound strings, I used a .020 for the high F on my 8 string when I had flats on it.
