EMG Geezer Butler v Steve Harris v EMG PX v quarter pounder

Thanks so much everyone who has contributed so far. I'm pretty sure I'm going to give the Delano pickups a try since I'm so happy with my Sandberg. I'm going to record some before clip then have the work done in January (if I can). Will update in here. Can't wait!!!

Thanks a lot for the explanations. Was indeed wondering if active was the way to go to get the grind but also thought those on my list would be hot enough to get me there without the faff of a preamp. I guess I can go in stages (like... Passive first and then add the pre later if need be)...

Crikey... Their description of the sound is more or less exactly what I'm looking for. I have Delano on my Sandberg TT and they are great. More food for thought .. the list gets longer :D

EMG Geezer Butler v Steve Harris v EMG PX v quarter pounder

Hey guys. I've been reading posts on each one of these pickups... But having a hard time deciding. My ancient P bass is going to the doctor for a well deserved rest and makeover. I'm going to replace the bridge and upgrade the rather tired electronics. Bear in mind that I've been playing this...

    Sire Bass Club!

Hi to the lucky owners I'm about to pull the trigger on two v7s and I wonder if you guys could tell me if my idea is nuts or not :) What I really want is natural colour, tort or black pick guard and rosewood fingerboard. I just really prefer the feel of rosewood under my fingers and the whole...

Always alternating fingers and starting with middle finger???

Wow. This is a great thread. I'm a long time bass player and have always done middle then index. I was wondering whether to go through the pain of retaining my muscle memory to do it the right way round and after reading all of the above I think it is mostly not worth the effort. The only...
