Tossed on a new pickguard, and some D’Addario Chromes. Polished the frets and set it up. This thing plays amazing now. I guess I ended up with one of the heavier models because I have zero neck dive with a 2.5” leather strap.

I've got a 34" scale Affinity P-Bass from 2005 right now. I'm more of a guitar player than anything else (a Les Paul at that, so even shorter than a Fender). I have a hard time with stretches on the 34" and feel that a short scale would be right up my alley.

I live in Houston, so there's about 10 GC locations within 20 miles of me. All of the Jags are special orders though and none of them carry them here locally. I may look into some other stores here in the area and see if they have what I'm looking for though.

I splurged with the 100 watt afterall. Saw it used on GC yesterday, and decided to look for a 40 this time around just to see the 100 come down in price a bit more. It's getting delivered to my local GC up the road for $185 after shipping and taxes. Now, to just figure out which bass I want.

Unfortunately the bass I'm planning on picking up (Jaguar SS to complement my awful conditioned P-Bass in a standard scale length) isn't carried with any vendors in my town and will have to be an online purchase, so I was planning on making both purchases at the same time.

This makes things more difficult for me now. Why should I be buying the 40 over the 25 now if the amp class is the same? I've just set aside a certain amount for all of this and can get a nicer bass if it's not going towards an amp.

If the 100 watt is out, do I really need the 40 over even the 25? I know I get the additional push buttons for better tone shaping, but is it worth the extra $100 new? Edit: After searching through the GC used section, I can pick up a 100 watt for $20 more. At that price, it may be worth it...

That sealed the deal. I'll be picking one of these up. But can anyone let me know why I need the 40 over the 25? This amp will never leave my bedroom. Is the additional voicing that much nicer? I'm assuming I can still tweak the EQ to get the sounds produced by the vintage option?
