Tone is very warm and woody. Lots of mids. The hollow body really helps here. Still trying to dial in my amp, a Traynor YBA200-2. A very different and unique sounding Bass.

This Bass is definatly no flyweight. It weighs in at almost 12 lbs. Sustains forever...

Here is my WarmothHollow J Bass in Wenge and Figured Bubinga Neck is Bubinga and Ziricote. Finish is Danish Oil.

I too swapped out the 12AX7's for 12AT7's. Killed the amp to me. Swapped in a set of 5751's. That did the trick. Smoother but still has some overdrive when cranked to 10.

Just wondering everyons opinion on Seymour Duncan's Basslines Passive Soapbars SSB-4's. I am currently building a J-Bass with a hollow Wenge body with a Bubinga top. Bubinga neck with a Ziricote fretboard. I sure would like to here the wood on this one... Any thoughts or comments?

I had my heart set on KT-88s in my new Traynor but instead it came in with the old 6550's. The web site said they were being shipped with KT88s. Contacted Traynor and they would not budge. I had a set of Tung Sol 6550s hanging around and put them in the amp and re-biased at 40 ma. I kinda...

Since Traynor wont substitute my 6550's in my brand new head for some KT-88s, what brand name tubes are you all using in your YBA200-2's. They are telling me that 6550s and KT-88s "are virtually the same tube".

Hi...I am presently waiting for my Warmoth Bass giutar parts to arrive. I have had it routed for EMG's. The bass is a hollow J bass with a Wenge body with a Bubinga laminated top. Neck is Bubinga with a Ziricote fret board. I allready have two basses, a Fender Zone Bass and a Ibanez...

And while I'm at it, I had to pay another $200.oo bucks here in Canada for this Head that is made 250 miles from me plus another 15% tax. Gee isnt Canadian and US money at par and has been for awhile. :hmm:

Sounds very nice. I am messing with the pre-amp tubes right now. I have a 12AY7 in V1 right now.

This amp is im mint shape considering its age. Late 70's or so. Everything original even the tubes.

My new YBA 200-2 came with 6550's. I am trying to recitfy this problem with Traynor right now.
