Gallien Krueger Club. GK Rules !

I got this rig for free as a roadside find (yes, literally free) earlier this year. 410 SBX Plus and 115 SBX II, plus the rack/amp. I drove past and saw the 1x15 sitting by some crummy furniture, and when I wheeled back around the rack was out there too and a woman was walking back into the...

    BUSTER 2X10 FEELER/MARHALL VBA 400

So that Buster is a 200w tube combo with 2 10's? Interesting! What are the taps on the output transformer? Seems like a cool grab n' go (if you've been hitting the gym) that could double as a head on top of a 2nd cab. What speakers are in it? Serviced lately? What tubes? Sorry for all...

Picked up a vintage ESP jazz bass - question

No markings on the neck plate at all, it's just plain chrome. Actually the only marking anywhere on it at all is the ESP logo on the headstock. Who knows, maybe it's just a mongrel with an ESP neck and some nice parts. Thanks for the suggestion on the pickguard, that may be my only option.

Picked up a vintage ESP jazz bass - question

Just picked this up for a song this week ($220!) Two questions: 1. Anybody have information about what series or year this was from? I presume it's early 80's since it's a Fender headstock shape. Obviously the bridge, pu's, and tuners (Schaller) are aftermarket. 2. Is it...

replacing speakers in sunn 215, help

Use the same holes. Make sure you get the speakers wired so they're in phase - ie, the move in sync instead of one going out while the other goes in. A good way to test it: once you have it wired up, plug in a speaker cable and touch a 9v battery to the contacts on the free end of the cable...

Got told Traynor doesn't have tone!

Traynor is cheap, 2nd rate stuff that you only use if you can't afford the real deal.

best replacement speakers for old Ampeg B40 cab?

Is that a guitar cab? What kind of sound do you want to get out of it? I have a Traynor 8x10 cab - it's only about 12" deep, definitely a guitar cab. I filled it with Jensen MOD-50's and it works great for guitar and pretty good for midrangey rock and roll bass.

My new Verellen BROAD GUAGE Stereo Bass Amp for Rickenbacker 4001

That's nothing, especially when it's something a little weird. What I can't stand is the 7 minute demos that only have 2 minutes of playing :spit:

    all around pedal

Catalinbread SFT Basically engineered to be a JFET transistor simulation of an Ampeg tube amp. Anything from mild clean compression and eq to full-on fuzzed out heavy distortion. Awesome on guitar too.

SVT tube tone without the sag?

My standard answer for lack of clean headroom is: MOAR CABS!@!!!! :)

Which rig to bring to next show?

I went with the 400+/EV cab, just because I'm a sucker for EV's. Better yet, SVT + Diesel 2x15 AND 8x10! :hyper:

    Another tube amp!

Closed back 15" EL84x2 for about 20w. Will break up hugely when cranked. Bandaxall tone stack gives a huge range of tones. I have a YGL-3 which is similar but with a 12" plus verb and trem.

Anyone have luck with a bass cab for both bass and electric guitar?

My EV B215-M sounds great for guitar.

Who Has a Bass No One Else on this Board Has?? (Part 3)

I've only ever seen one other like my '78-ish Ibanez Silver Series P/J in white with maple neck and block inlays. It's fantastic, one of the best basses I've ever played. Only cost me about $400 too.

    SOLD FS/FT: Traynor YBA-4

Awesome amp. I have one with an Emi Big Ben in it. Sounds great for bass at lower volume, and sounds AMAZING on guitar! Fantastic classic overdrive sound. Basically a 50w plexi in a 1x15 closed back combo.
