    Home Studio Audio Interface Recommendations?

Thanks to all. I picked up the Presonus 1810c from Sweetwater. So far, so good. Easy integration for me into my system: current model mac mini 32G, Studio One v4, amplifier/passive monitors. Downside: compared to 44VSL, the input knobs are smooth, which makes it a bit tough to dial in and...

    Home Studio Audio Interface Recommendations?

I have been using the following: Mac Mini w 32G memory, Studio One v4 and related plugins, and a Presonus AudioBox 44VSL as my audio interface. After 6 happy years, the 44VSL is toast. These days, I mainly do bass tracks for my own band and others. The aforementioned equipment stays in my...

How many basses do you own? (Currently) Part 2

A couple of additions recently, but I thought I'd take the easy way out for now and post a pic instead of detailed descriptions. There are a few other basses and guitars scattered about the house, but this pic captures most of those of interest.

How many basses do you own? (Currently) Part 2

An even dozen. Given that some view 13 as unlucky, I'm thinking that 2019 needs to bring 2 new members to the family :-)

Need a good, decent practice amp

I've had back surgery as well as hips replaced etc. I also came to the realization years ago that if I left my gear out I would use it. All bass/guitar cases now empty and seem happy in dark basement. So...all of my bases are either hanging on the wall or on a stand around and about. Same w...

    Apple (Macintosh), what's the skinny?

I enjoyed my Apple Mac a ton! I remember thinking it couldn't get any better when I bought my 512K Mac and, eventually, got an external drive. Let's not forget how great the RAM disk was! Then I went to various Unix systems before going to Win 3.1 and through Win 7. Have avoided Win 8 & 10...

Phil Jones Bass 77 vs Double 4s

Looking for a practice amp (mostly), but that I could use at small gigs, maybe. I am a veteran bass player playing mostly rock and some pop. Mostly doing studio work these days and trying to minimize live shows (Been there, done that for decades, bought the tee shirts). FYI, I have Carvin...

    Let Us Hear Your Band

Most of our pop/rock CDs are made up of originals. While working on a concept album, we took time to put together a collection of interpretations of well-knownish tunes. Feedback welcome. Listen to Interpretations, Vol. 1 by Escher's Enigma #np on #SoundCloud

Thanks! I think the first step is to raise the pups. When my tech set up the bass some time ago, I'm willing to believe he left the pups at standardish looking heights. I never think about heights as he gets the basics right (for me). But, as many have pointed out, a TB is a different...

Yes. I never liked the Gibson's when I played them. I tried for years to get myself to like them. Then I tried this one and really liked the feel. I figure that pups could cost almost full price of bass, which is fine.

Thanks. I've got the tone maxed and have the neck PUP nearly off. Raising pups is worth a try. Probably replacing pups will be answer. Love the bass.
