Vintage LaBella Flats; will they still work?

And honestly (and selfishly) i will probably use them, i just wanted to make sure these aren’t worth stupid money. Like, buy a new car, money. Lol.

Vintage LaBella Flats; will they still work?

Ok, here’s pics of the strings. If anyone has a better guess at the age of said strings, please chime in. The packages are fairly clean of evidence of corrosion, no big rust spots, ect. Thanks for any info.

Vintage LaBella Flats; will they still work?

Thanks for the info, guys. I found them at a goodwill near me for $5 per string. I will try to post some pics later, the paper wrapper is kind of interesting. It has ‘High Fidelity’ on it, you know, so you dont get these mixed up with low fidelity strings.

Vintage LaBella Flats; will they still work?

I have found a set of labella flats that have never been used. The paper package they came in lead me to believe they are from the late 60’s. My question is, metallurgically, are these still useable? Or do strings corrode over a few decades? I dont change strings unless they break and i always...

New Fender American Vintage Series - Waiting Room Part 3

I cant help you with a comparison to an american standard, but I was playing a Geddy Lee Jazz before my NAV'63p and had no problem changing to the wider neck. I did use some scotch brite to rub some of the stickyness from the Nitro paint on the neck and now it is very smooth and comfortable...

    EHX C9 Organ...not a typo

This is like 'Beatles in a box'. Is the Press Tone supposed to pay homage to Billy Preston'? And a clavoline for Baby your a Rich Man. Wow! -db

Fender American Vintage '63 Precision Bass

I also am in love with my '63. I had played jazz basses for about the last 10 years and though the switch to a P neck would be difficult, but found that I prefer them to jazz necks. I also got one with the gold Fender logo, so it feels special. -db

The Official Fender Precision Bass Club (Part 8)

The foam is there to cut some sustain on the notes. This gives a upright/double bass/thumpy sound. -db

What bass does your favourite bassist play?

He hasn't been mentioned yet, but my favorite bass player is Tommy Cogbill. He played on early Aretha, Wilson Pickett, King Curtis, Dusty Springfield, and 'From Elvis in Memphis'. Edit: He played Fender Precisions, a '59 that belonged to Chips Moman and a '65 that he owned. -db

    Show your ashtrays/pickup covers

This is my only bass at the moment, Fender NAV '63 Precision. I brought it home on August 3 last year and have only removed the covers for string changes and pickup adjustments. It took a little to adjust to the covers but i leave them on all the time. -db
