My mostly-USA Franken-P. I had to relearn RH technique a bit to deal with the cover, but it looks so cool it's worth it.

Edit: Hey, this is cool... I just noticed that if you blow the pic up full size and look at the lower left corner of the bridge cover, you can see me holding the phone. I feel like I'm on CSI! "Enhance... enhance... enhance... there! There's our killer!"

Is there more info on this bass anywhere? It's just lovely, nicest wood grain P bass I've seen.

As far as I can tell, NO ONE has answered the question about an ashtray for a five-string (Fender Jazz?), either bridge or pickup. I myself would like to know, as the string spacing on my new Squier VM Telecaster is SO wide, that I cannot install ANY 4-string ashtray cover over it (Jazz or Precision). I think that the Tele would look great with a bridge ashtray to highligh the chrome Fender humbucker.

In any case, here's two of mine...A now sold '75 AVRI and then it's replacement...a Squier VM 70s:

I don't think there are any made to fit a 5 string, however if you are a bit of a do it yourself guy, the Rondo Bridge set cover is the best fit for the Squire VM 5 string bridge, also you will need the Marcus Miller 5 string pickup cover for the Top PU.. The one in the set Rondo provides, is not wide enough, well it is, but the strings will buzz because the cover is to low to the strings, so if you go with the Rondo Bridge Cover and the Marcus Miller cover you can make it fit.. To make it fit ( Bridge Cover ) you will need to remove the bridge from the bass and Grind down the Corners of the Bridge, this will allow the cover to fit.. and no biggie here, you can always get another bridge, if you trash it out.. I had no problem Grinding my down and then reshaping and sanding down the bridge. even if you kind of slop it up a bit the Bridge cover will cover it up.. But this will work with a little effort.. Now I'm not telling you all to do this, some of you I'm sure have already Freaked out at this suggest, and it is only a suggestion.. So Not for the faint of heart, but the end result is nice, if you like covers!! :-)

OK guys, I need help!!!!!! Anyone know of a GOLD set of covers for a jazz sitting around looking for a home? I just picked up a 68 jazz with gold hardware that needs to be dressed properly. I've seen the ones without the "F" but really want the fender models. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
