Great googly moogly, that red 64 P is beauteous.

I have both covers on my 69 tele, but no covers on my 71 P fretless. I like the look of the 51-style covers, and (if you run a ground wire) the pup cover helps shield the SC from humm. On the 71, I need access to all available real estate.

New member here. Have learned a lot from you guys. Wanted to share a few pics of my beloved '64 Precision in Candy Apple Red (silver undercoat). Dad bought new and gave to me when I was 18 and he was done gigging. Still have the original case, strap and price tag ($249.99). I'm 45 now and have cherished this one for a while now.

Now THAT is something SPECIAL right THERE!!!

Here is my '78 lefty, with flatwounds and the mute installed. If I want a different sound, I use a different bass. I use the P for the kind of music they were originally made to play, when sustain was (mostly) a bad thing.

Will a P bridge ashtray fit over the Squier hi-mass 4-saddle bridge found on Matt Freeman, Chris Aiken, Eva Gardner basses?

Not 100% sure about keeping this on.
Precision ashtray on a modern player jazz.
A very tight fit over the bridge.
I'd really prefer a jazz ashtray (ideally in black and with the 'F' logo, although that seems impossible to find) but as best as I can figure, that won't fit with the bigger pickup.

I just got this AV63 P-Bass and am very impressed with it. I usually remove the covers, but these may stay on for a bit.

It looks so cool and I am really digging the sound with the foam mute under the bridge cover. The current AV line is really worth checking out.
