New 2014 Squier Classic Vibe basses

The inca indeed appears to be a "non" JJCV. So anyone out there wondering how these sound or feel, chances are it's exactly like a typical 60's CV.

I doubt they'll be that expensive. It will probably be right about 350, since that is where the current CV Jazz is, maybe a little more because of the matching headstock. Although, if it turns out that they start selling Squier stuff for up to 400 and 500 dollars, I have a feeling we're going to see MIM stuff start being priced at the MIJ level, them cutting MIJ production, and leaving MIA in the stratosphere price-wise.

Edit: I didn't realize the CV Jazz was at 380. There is a very good chance they are pricing the Inca Silver Jazz at 450. While that's quite a chunk of change, I don't know of any other model short of the custom shop that has matching headstocks.

Is the CV 70s Precision basically a Matt Freeman, minus the signature and with block inlays? It's definitely a tempting buy for me.

That's what it looks like, but also has the John Boehner after a trip to Florida neck tint going on.

Touche! hah. The decal on this 5er is right front and center. Glad to see the line expanding nonetheless. The Inca Silver J and Sherwood Green Strat are my favorites of this addition.

And I agree, I'm glad to see the line run into new avenues. However, I must say I am a little disappointed. There was some press about a black CV Jazz a little ways back, but as it stands, it looks like that was just a rumor despite it showing up on GC's (among others') website. Perhaps it was a prototype that was being seriously considered, but ended up getting scrapped.

On a purely personal note, I can say that my lust for matching headstocks is not being GASsed up by the Inca Silver model. Maybe I'd have to see one "in the flesh", but for some reason it's not grabbing me. Still, I really dig the fact that Squier is allowed to be more experimental than it's bigger brother.

By the way, am I the only one that finds it weird that we find out about new models on vendor-sites, while it takes FOREVER for them to show up on the manufacturer's freakin' website?!

I'm sure someone with more expertise could say for sure but I'm pretty sure its just a new color. Edit: i just saw G.C. And M.F. Call it the Classic Vibe Precision and leave out the '60s.

Seems to be a Bass IV with JM pickups and a top-loader hardtail.

The Bass VI is a 30" scale. Standard baritones are only about 28"

Yeah, I was very tempted by the photos of it, and then when I went into L&M and picked it up, all desire was instantly crushed by the weight.

I guess its a good thing that the CVs are all so heavy (at least every one I've ever touched), because if they weren't I'd probably own a half dozen of them or so...

Then it's an even-better thing I didn't introduce you to my CV Jazz when I was thinking about selling it…8.75lbs of shockingly killer bass-itude! The only reason I don't still possess it was that I traded it towards an even-more ergonomically-friendly bass.

Gah!!! 8.75 would have *just* fit into my under 9lb limit criteria. I do keep trying to pick them up every time I'm in a shop in hopes that one day a lightweight model will make it here. But again I suppose its for the best because my wallet wouldn't be able to handle it if lightweight CVs were everywhere.

I'll play anything sub 10lbs. Sadly, there are very few basses that come into my local L&M that even come close to that. Hell, most of the USA Fenders are 10lbs. I sometimes think they're deliberately shipped the scraps all the high volume locations like Vancouver & Toronto don't want.
