I was wondering if I missed some other piece of info, but this was my thought as well. If you add a loop switcher (which will absolutely work!), you're adding 4 instrument cables and an additional power cable (assuming it has an LED or two) to effectively turn two foot switches into one.

Unfortunately we don't have packaged 6 string sets available. OP might be wise to try LaBella for that. For our headlesses, we use LaBella double ball end strings. The Hipshot hardware we use accommodates basically any single ball end string you might want use though.
