What has been your favorite purchase in 2019 , so far anyway?

That would be this, which arrived yesterday, NOS: :

Do you set it and forget it at gigs?

I also use a bass fly rig - what do your settings look like?

Tech 21Bass Fly Rig or Zoom B3N?

That's about where I've landed. My only sticking point is that the group I play with most requires a fairly wide array of tones, from pop to rock and all in between. That being said, the sansamp/BFR takes care of 90% of that.

    Dual musicman pickup bass.

I’m reasonably sure Warwick has a rockbass version of the corvette $$. I’m addition to your list, there’s also the Fender Standard and/or Squier Dimension, which would be affordable and offer a double humbucker configuration.

Tech 21Bass Fly Rig or Zoom B3N?

I regularly use the BFR with my (ampless) regularly gigging band. I generally agree with the statements that the sansamp/di and tuner portion are good, the comp and chorus are very usable, and the fuzz/filter is meh. I keep using it because of the quality of the sansamp, the ease of setup, and...

    NBD! American Standard Precision V

I've never done a NBD thread before, but I'm REALLY excited about this bass. It arrived a little earlier this afternoon and I've had it out all day. I got a pretty good deal online and from about 2-3 feet, the thing looks new. I was expending this bass to be heavier, but it comes in around 8.7...

People with multiple basses, how do you pick which one to bring to the gig

I almost always bring my Squier Deluxe Active Jazz V, solely because I'm in groups that demand a five string. I used to bring a backup 4 string tuned BEAD, but now I don't really bother. The DAJV is getting replaced with a Fender American Standard Precision V, that is currently on its way to me...

Hot or Not: New Ltd Ed Parallel Universe '51 Tele PJ

I said carrots only because I find it irritating that FMIC spends its time limiting options on its USA models and coming up with gimmicks like this... ...and because I'll never directly vote against a PJ.

    80's band - which bass?

I’d lean towards the Jazz with rounds. If I had to buy, I’d buy Charvel or Jackson.

    Rumble 500 head settings

I'm in a similar situation, I usually use precision basses and/or 5 strings and have a rumble 500 head and cabinets. I play in a 90s cover band with this set up, so my settings are designed to accommodate the variety in our sets. I play in small to moderately sized (~300) indoor venues as well...

The tone you want on a gig...what defines it?

I set the EQ on my amp flat and boost/cut the mids depending on the room. The rest is in the volume and tone knobs on my bass depending on the song. Easy peasy.

One Squier To Rule Them All...

Very nice! I ended up doing something similar. The affordability/playability plus upgrades have made mine in excellent placeholder while I plan for a better 5 string.

    Surprise: Fender Rumble amp!

I have a Rumble 500 head and two Rumble 112 cabinets - I like them a lot for what they are. I walked into the store with absolutely no intention of having a Fender rig and walked out with an affordable, highly versatile, good sounding setup.

    NBD - First 5-String

Wow - beautiful! Play it well!
