Inflation and are you near your limit?

Yup. At 68 why would I want to keep collecting gear just so my wife can try to figure out what to do with it later

    urgent!!!! v4b, should i go with a 212 or an 810?

I couldn’t agree more. I use a GB amp that runs a 2 ohm load and have 4 1-12 8 ohm cabinets. This allows me to just take what I need and not deal with the hassle of loading heavy cabs “just for looks”. If you buy the 2-12, you can add another in the future when you pay off your loan

    consciousness-altering songs or albums

I’m thinking either Pink Floyd’s Atom Heart Mother (recorded with the London Philharmonic and the Westminster Choir) or their next album, Meddle. And I must include their soundtrack from the movie “The Valley” called “Obscured by Clouds”. Changed the way I looked at music

What's so special about John Entwistle?

Great video of an outstanding bass player. What kind of bass was he playing? I’m not familiar with it.

    Patriotic GAS

Well maybe I’m just too old to have GAS. Having cash in the safe and money in the bank makes me feel better than adding another bass to the closest. Anyway, right now our future is uncertain, at best

Which bass besides Stingray rarely fall out of adjustment

The only bass I have left is a 1982 Aria Pro SB1000. I can’t remember the last time it needed adjustment. Stays in tune as well as any bass I’ve ever owned.

    Criminally commercially unsuccessful bands

Wishbone Ash. Saw them twice in the early 70’s. Once at Melody Skate Land in Indy (yes it was a skating rink with seating on the floor) and then at the Hammond Civic Center. Still one of my favorites.

My Wife Poses the Ultimate Question

Yup. After many years of collecting, I finally down sized and now have just one bass. For me, the happiness from buying a new bass was fleeting because there was always something else that I didn’t have.

Talk me out of buying a Rickenbacker

No horror story, but I never got used to the odd scale length so I finally sold it.

    Some guy just told me

I was going to leave a comment for the op but you said it well. I won’t even go on and on about being an old fart myself.

What was your first Bass Amp?

A 50 watt, 2-12 Bassman that I bought used in 1968. While I would like to have it back, it really wasn’t a great amp.

Considering this bass for my daughter- opinions?

I am only posting again because I wonder if she got the bass she was asking for. By the way. Of all the instruments I have had over the years, if I could have just one of them back, it would be a ‘72 Telecaster bass that I bought new. This bass was much like the one she is hoping to get

Considering this bass for my daughter- opinions?

I have read many great replies to this thread. During my high school days and the 50 years since then, I can’t remember a time when I was swayed by the advice or opinion of anyone concerning which bass I wanted. If that’s the one she has her heart set on, then it sounds like a done deal. If the...

Well This is an Interesting Cabinet

    I think it’s a 2-10, not a 4-10
