I'm guessing that going into protect would be indicated by the flashing red and green lights on the front of the amp? Mine is not doing this so I will try visually inspecting some connections, probably won't dig around too much for the obvious reasons, and re-seat my tubes, swap some pre's and...

I've been inside this amp before and am aware of the dangers, that being said I tend to only swap tubes. I can deal with a Laney AOR but the SVT is a pain to navigate. All the tubes in the back seem fine, they all glow appropriately and when I hit the stand-by to on they get just a little blue...

Yeah..Hodgy has helped me out a bunch too! I will try all those suggestions and re-seat all my tubes, check connectors inside, try the pre and power setups with other amps, etc... Mine seems to be out of protect mode... Thanks for the tips!

So some of you probably know some of my story already....replaced all my tubes in my SVT, brought it to a tech for piece of mind but everything was good. I played two gigs and practices and everything was great... I let my amp sit and cool for about 90 min after a gig loaded it in my van and...

Cool...I will do a swap of pre's just to see. It was on my to do list just to be sure. I would bias this thing with my bias probe but getting into it for a plate reading seems cumbersome...maybe I can get it from the top. I have a suspicion I'm just used to old tubes, this being my first ever...

I got a matched set of JJs 6550s. The pres are also matched though the two matched in the back of the amp are 100 and 102 but I was told this should be fine. I've biased them up with the lights and everything seems fine it's just a different animal in some senses.

Just retubed the SVT CL and everything seems to be running fine..the only thing is a difference in tone. Will new tubes 'settle down' or will there be a significant difference in tone when changing tubes? If I put my old pre amp tubes back will I gain some of my old tone back or is a...
