Warwick has unbeatable growl, stock straight from the factory. Active pickups & electronics of course. No need to screw with aftermarket upgrades w/ their active setup. Not a fan of their passive pickups, at all.

I just purchased this Warwick GPS NT Stage I via The Bass Place (Reverb.com Shop) for $2K. Currently own the same bass in Burgundy Red. Great basses, imho. Won't be selling either anytime soon.

Yep, resale on gear I've purchased as new sucks. I almost always try to buy used, so when I do move something down the road, I don't take a freaking bath. Just have to be smart. If you buy new, make sure you're going to keep the item for a long time to come, get your use out of it, then move it.

I'm not sure what you've based your "popular" opinion upon, but I'd say 5's are a live and well. I'm much happier on a 5 string than any other bass.

I'm not worried about it sounding the same. I just wanted the same "bigness" of the Carbine 6. I picked up an old Mesa Basis M-2000 this past week too. Figured why not, $500 didn't seen to be too bad of a deal. I now have 3 heads from different "eras" - got my basses covered. :)

Agreed. The D-800 was never a consideration. WD-800 or the D-800+ were the 2 competing for my money. Ordered the 800+ this afternoon. \,,/
