I’ve not tried a Legacy but not sure it will give you that true ‘rails’ tone when pushed like the classic RB heads can do.

I’ve heard many people describe the GK 1001RB that way ;)

If you can find it, a 400RB/700RB with a 410RBH would be a killer rig.

What rig are you running through? And how have you set up the bass? The pups seem to shine when there’s a bit of boost cut on the pre, have a look at Dave Navarro’s review which is fairly comprehensive. I think with a fairly aggressive playing style (digging in with fingers or a pick) might...

Very nice! I’ve got a mate’s Subway 115 paired with my 8 ohm original recipe 1212 and my 700RB and it’s a cracking combo! The angled driver points up to my head so you never don’t hear yourself, plus the 15 gives a nice round bottom end which I was lacking a little with just the 1212 understandably.

How do you find the bass response with that combo? Do you usually set it up with the 1212 horizontal on the floor?

I’d much prefer a bass that had minimal neck dive. You don’t waste energy/technique/gear fighting it, simple as that. Will I still play a bass that dives? Sure if the tone is worth it, but I don’t gig so…:D

Yes, works just fine. My Euro came fitted with a DGTC and active EMGs.

Question for the group - is there any major difference between the 'original recipe' active EMGs from the 80s vs the standard quick-connect ones you get today?
