Just a wee joke AM * * Now expecting the actual Dingwall (pop about 5,000 max) Bass Club to put me right. Or not. :-)

I don't recommend that she does that exclusively Jimmy! It helped me, way back when. You get a feel for your fingerboard and an unseen sense of where the notes are, important if you're also going to sing. Try it. Use you ears and your feel. If it doesn't work, scrap it.

Practice playing bass with your eyes shut. If you're in a band, rehearse the songs without the vocalist.

Some excellent choices throughout this thread. Well done people. Just stumbled on this superb punchy, bouncy rhythm. Who is it?

A dangerous choice!! Fender jazz from late 72 or 75??

Or end up with two old rusty mistakes, where you're forced to get the soldering iron out and maybe some new frets for the bugger(s)? Yep, yep, I shouldn't have bought it without seeing it person and playing it first. My bad.

My apprehension is based (or "Bassed") if you will, on some mistaken purchases in the past. But still, glad to hear it went well. All the electronics intact by the sounds of it too. Enjoy!

Quite, and this doesn't just apply to basses. Unless you can test it, there's no point.

This is not a club in Dingwall is it? That would be extraordinary. Sorry, newbie here.

Neither for me. If you're not able to try them then don't bother.
