It's sacrilege to some, but as a more or less dedicated pickstyle player these days I absolutely love Nate Converge's tone - especially the seething grunt he dialed in on this record:

Keeping with some of my biggest influences... I give you Harley Flanagan and the angriest, most brutal distorted bass sound you could imagine. I'm cool with this not really being everybody's thing.
Im not sure if thats a Warwick on that particular song, but man! Its like a campfire for my ears listening thru my audio technica m40's!I know what the something is for me...
Slightly dirty, sits perfect in the mix, and mostly the legato notes...like a shark swimming through water
